Position: Social Worker Adults
Location: Guildhall Walk, PO1 2AL
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Duration: 2+ Months
Working Hours: 37 hours per week (08:30 – 17:00)
Pay Rate: £ 21.53 per hour

Job Responsibilities
Carry out strengths-based assessments for adults with care and support needs
Undertake safeguarding enquiries in line with statutory responsibilities
Develop, review, and implement care and support plans
Work collaboratively with service users, families, and partner agencies
Apply relevant legislation including the Care Act and Mental Capacity Act
Maintain accurate, timely case records in line with council procedures
Participate in duty rotas and contribute to team decision-making
Support individuals to achieve independence and improved outcomes
Person Specification
Must-Have Requirements
Recognised Social Work qualification
Registration with Social Work England (SWE)
Experience in adult social care practice
Strong understanding of safeguarding adults procedures
Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Care Act 2014
Ability to manage a caseload effectively and work under pressure
UK right to work confirmed
Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain)
Nice-to-Have Requirements
Previous experience within a local authority setting
Experience handling complex casework
Knowledge of hospital discharge processes and multi-agency working
Familiarity with Mental Capacity Act assessments and best interest decisions
