PK Education are currently recruiting for a passionate and motivated English Teacher to join a well-established secondary school in County Durham from June 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher to become part of a supportive English department committed to delivering engaging and high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. Applications from both experienced teachers and ECTs are welcomed.
The Role:- Planning and delivering engaging English Language and Literature lessons
- Teaching across KS3 and KS4
- Monitoring and assessing pupil progress in line with school policies
- Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Supporting pupils of varying abilities to achieve their full potential
- Contributing to the wider school community and departmental development
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching English within a secondary school setting
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Excellent subject knowledge and communication skills
- A passion for education and inspiring young people
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Role: English Teacher
- Location: County Durham
- Pay Rate: £180 – £240 per day
- Contract: Full time
- Start Date: June 2026
- Duration: Until the end of the academic year, with the potential to continue from September 2027
