You will be a senior member of the technical team contributing to strategic plans and developments. In this critical role, you will make a significant contribution to driving forward the quality agenda, leading new product implementation improvements, and maintaining and improving audit results.

You will be part of the strong site leadership team, reporting into the general manager. You will be leading, coaching, and developing the site quality team (covering Implementations / Laboratory /Factory Quality).

About the Role of Quality Manager

You will be accountable for the implementation of our quality agenda at Milton Keynes, complying with legal, group and customer requirements and working closely with the site team to ensure that all aspects are performed in line with standards.

 

Key Responsibilities as Quality Manager at Refresco

  • Actively participate as part of the senior technical team in the setting and improvement of Refresco UK’s Quality Management agenda and standards.
  • Be accountable for site implementation of Refresco UK’s Quality Management agenda, complying with legal, group and customer requirements and then working closely with the site team to ensure that aspects are performed in-line with standards.
  • Ensure due diligence can be demonstrated to satisfy the requirements of external agencies.
  • Responsible for timely and accurate reporting of internal Refresco KPI’s to the management team.
  • Be responsible for ensuring GMP and Hygiene standards are communicated to the operational teams and processes are in place to effectively monitor and manage them.
  • Partake in site visits and 3rd party / customer audits. Ensure that corrective actions are implemented, and drive quality improvement.
  • React in a timely way to day-to-day quality / technical matters that arise, facilitating the determination of root cause, implementation of corrective action and, in particular, ensuring effective systems are place for: Control of non-conforming items, Management of customer and consumer complaints, Ensure the General Manager is made aware of repeat non-conforming items.
  • Proactively build relationship with Customer Technical Managers, ensuring effective communication internally and externally.
  • Control the Quality Team expenditure against agreed budget.
  • Internal audits are completed to schedule, root cause determined and corrected action implemented to drive quality improvement.
  • HACCP teams are assembled and studies completed and reviewed to the required schedule.
  • Launches and trials of new products is completed in a timely manner meeting food safety, legal and customer requirements.
  • Process changes are evaluated, risk assessed, validated and documented
  • all materials and products are analysed to schedule
  • relevant certification is retained
  • an effective and reliable service is provided.
  • Lead the development of the team to support the above roles as required and create a succession plan to increase skills and flexibility throughout the standards team.

 

 

About You

  • You will need experience of leading a quality team with a clear vision, coaching and empowering your team
  • You will need FMCG industry sector experience preferably in food and / or drink
  • A degree in a Science or Food Technology is preferred or 5+ years industry experience in a similar technical/quality role
  • You will need to be fully familiar with modern manufacturing methodologies, and show that you have delivered new product implementations and have a successful internal / external customer audit record
  • You will have experience and feel comfortable in a fast moving, fast changing 24/7 manufacturing environment with many SKU's, new product implententations and new automated engineering equipment
