Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design mechanical systems for a variety of building projects, including commercial, residential, and industrial facilities.
  • Create detailed mechanical designs, calculations, and specifications, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Utilize Building Information Modeling (BIM) software and other design tools to develop 3D models and simulations for project visualization and coordination.
  • Analyze and optimize HVAC systems, plumbing, and fire protection designs for energy efficiency and environmental sustainability.
  • Conduct technical feasibility studies and performance evaluations to assess the viability and performance of mechanical systems.
  • Provide technical support during the construction phase, reviewing drawings, conducting site visits, and resolving design-related issues.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in mechanical engineering and building services.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer within the building services sector.
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and other BIM tools.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, plumbing, and fire protection design principles.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on innovative and sustainable solutions.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities, able to collaborate with colleagues, clients, and contractors.
  • Professional membership with CIBSE or similar institutions is a plus.
