Our IT function proudly delivers personal service to over 1500 IT users. The team is busy implementing cutting-edge cloud-based technology, consistently meeting technological evolution, compliance, security, and excellent customer service. Due to an internal promotion, we’re recruiting a new IT Operations Technical Lead to join our dedicated team!
So, what’s the mission?You'll ensure the seamless implementation, management, and maintenance of our critical IT systems and infrastructure. Reporting to the Head of IT Operations, you'll be entrusted with the responsibility of safeguarding the performance, availability, and efficiency of our diverse range of IT systems, both on-premises and in the cloud.

You'll maintain systems availability according to agreed SLAs while leading the consolidation of our data centre assets for optimal efficiency. Your expertise as a technical subject matter expert will be invaluable as you guide our cloud migration project, steering the execution of our cloud strategy with finesse.

But it's not just about technical prowess. As a leader within our function, you'll inspire and motivate a team of IT professionals, fostering a culture of positivity, collaboration, and continuous growth. Your mentorship and guidance will empower colleagues to hone their skills and capabilities, ensuring that we're always at the forefront of innovation.

Your role won't stop at leading your team; you'll also serve as a bridge between the IT Operations team and other departments, ensuring seamless communication and alignment of goals. Collaborating closely with Technical Architects, you'll provide valuable insights and direction to deliver innovative solutions that propel our business forward.
What are the mission-critical skills?

  • Ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams of varying expertise
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Capable of swiftly adapting to emerging needs, especially in dynamic environments
  • Experience in managing and collaborating with suppliers to achieve desired outcomes
  • Skilled in guiding teams through organisational changes
  • Hands-on experience and exposure to project management practices
  • Proficiency in successful on-premises to cloud migration projects and Azure technologies
  • Experience in managing infrastructure services within enterprise environments
  • Understanding of cybersecurity practices and concepts
  • Competency in fault diagnosis, root cause analysis, modern identity services, networking, and staying updated with technology trends and best practices

  • Accreditation in project management methodologies (PRINCE II)
  • Accreditation in IT service management practices (ITIL)
  • Desired Microsoft certifications, including Azure Fundamentals, Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Network Engineer Associate, and Azure Solutions Architect Expert
