Financial Controller

Doncaster

£56,000 + Annual Bonus

The purpose of this vacancy is to effectively manage the Finance Operation of the business.

You will work closely with the Executive Director and Group Financial Controller in the strategic planning of the businesses, providing information where necessary to assist in achieving the goals and targets as set by the company. The role involves the management of 3 people.

Key responsibilities for the role will include.

• Deliver accurate and timely Management Accounts with forward looking analysis on key trends including performance against budget for both revenue and costs.
• Appraise the senior team, Executive Director and accounts staff and record appropriate details for future forecasting / actions.
• Ensure adequate controls are in place to ensure catering margins are safeguarded and stock levels monitored.
• Review the purchase, sales and general ledger postings to ensure the companies accounting procedures are being correctly adopted.
• Hold a weekly meeting to review all large and old debts advising team members of appropriate actions to take as per the company policy and ensure they are followed through.
• Assist with preparing where necessary and review the monthly profit and loss accounts.
• Review and approve monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Complete a detailed Financial Controllers narrative advising on the previous months results noting any exceptions and actions taken.
• To be responsible for the development of all members of staff within the accounts department, including annual performance appraisals.
• To review the goals and targets of the department as set by the ED and Group Financial Controller.
• Prepare annual statutory financial statements in line with current reporting standards and submit a detailed audit pack.
• To manager your team’s performance by way of regular 1:1’s and appraisal meetings.
• To perform any other reasonable task as instructed by Group Finance, the Executive Director’s or Company Director.

Experience required/desired.

• 3- 5 years’ experience in a similar vacancy.
• CIMA qualified preferred, AAT qualified as minimum.
• Excellent commercial acumen
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships, influence decision makers and think strategically.
• Commercially astute, articulate, technically strong, dynamic, insightful, influential leader and experience of leading both strategic and operational teams.
• Strong IT, analytic and modelling skills
