Emtech Recruitment are working with an award winning consultancy in Nottingham that are looking for a Senior Transport Planner to join their dynamic team.

As a Senior Transport Planner in our Nottingham office, you will have the following key responsibilities:

Supporting the delivery of Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans, Masterplans, and other technical reports to support planning applications and other transport-related projects, both for the public and private sectors. Collaborating with other members of the Transport Planning Team, other services within the company, private and public sector clients, architects, and planners throughout the project life cycle. Understanding and applying appropriate technical standards (such as Design Manual for Roads and Bridges, Manual for Streets, and Local Authority Design Guides). Assisting in the preparation of fee proposals for new projects and collaborating with senior colleagues and Account Managers to ensure projects are delivered within budget and meet KPIs. Supporting meetings, including negotiations with Local Authorities and other regulatory bodies.

You will bring:

Demonstrable experience in transport planning for development, including analysis and assessment. Ability to support senior colleagues in dealing with clients, local authorities, and other regulatory bodies. Understanding of client briefs, fee proposals, and the effective delivery of project work. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Proficiency in technical writing and a sound working competence in MS Office products (including Excel and Word). Preparation of Transport Statements/Assessments, Travel Plans, ES Chapters, Access Studies, and other transport-related documents, with experience in technical design and master planning. Experience with industry-standard junction capacity assessment applications such as Junctions 10 and LinSig, preferably including experience with larger network modeling. Experience in preparing and checking figures and drawings using packages such as AutoCAD and GIS. Ability to work effectively in an unsupervised environment, leading a piece of work or working within a project team. Demonstrable management techniques including project and resource management as well as mentoring junior staff. A degree in an analytical subject such as engineering, geography, mathematics, or similar. Membership in a relevant professional institution (CIHT, CILT, IHE, TPS, ICE) is preferred.
