Job Title: Estimator (PFP)
Division / Team: Commercial Team
Reports To: Quantity Surveyor
Summary:
Join our clients esteemed Commercial Team as a Passive Fire Protection Estimator. In this role, you'll play a crucial part in supporting Operations and Sales Teams by meticulously crafting accurate and compliant quotations for valued clients.
Main Responsibilities:
- Generate estimates for various Passive Fire solutions, encompassing surveys, doors/remedials, firestopping, and dampers.
- Produce precise quotations tailored to meet client requirements.
- Proficiently read and interpret site drawings and reports.
- Stay abreast of Passive Fire and Fire Stopping legislation developments.
- Prepare bills of materials and quotations based on client specifications.
- Ensure accurate understanding and interpretation of client needs.
- Cultivate strong working relationships with clients and internal teams.
- Effectively manage workload to meet client deadlines.
Key Skills:
- Essential background and experience in estimating, with a preference for experience in Firestopping, doors, and dampers.
- Proficiency in compiling rates from first principles.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Exceptional customer relations skills.
- Proficient in IT, especially Microsoft software.
- Excellent communication skills, both face-to-face and through virtual platforms like MS Teams.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Thorough understanding of industry standards.
- Excellent timekeeping and time management abilities.
- Self-motivated and proactive team player, demonstrating professionalism and positivity.
- Ideal background in passive fire protection; further training provided as necessary.
Qualifications and Knowledge:
Qualifications:
Proficiency in software like Microsoft Outlook Express, Excel, and Word. (Experience with Office 365, Bolster, or similar systems advantageous)
Construction-related qualification preferred, at least to NVQ Level 3 or ONC.
Knowledge:
Minimum of 6 months' experience in a similar role desired.
Previous Administration/Operations experience essential.
Willingness to learn and undergo training in Construction/Passive Fire Protection.
