We are currently recruiting for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to work with the Cable Design Team Lead and Engineers and take responsiblty for delivering the design of cable systems projects up to and including 132kV both in the UK and internationally,

You will:

• Work with Team Lead & other members of the team to deliver cable design projects to targeted levels of quality, timeliness, and profitability
• Provide input into cable routing feasibility studies working with other members of the Professional Services Team
• Prepare design deliverables for cable systems projects including (but not limited to):
• • Route plans
  • Trench configurations
  • Cable sizing calculations
  • Cable pulling calculations
  • Bonding Diagrams
  • Joint Bay Layouts
  • Temporary Works Designs (for excavations)
  • Cable-Overhead line interface design work
  • Design Risk Registers
  • As-built records
• Undertake Cable Route Surveys
• Assist the Electrical Design team undertaking a range of site testing / surveys
• Seek out innovative solutions to technical problems.
• Ensure an active safety culture is created and maintain a safe working environment at all times.
• Operate within the quality assurance manual of the group or an established project management methodology which ensures the maintenance of equivalent standards.
• Have a solid understanding of the interface requirements between the design team and all other relevant project stakeholders including delivery, consents and environmental.
• Produce technical reports (routing feasibility, cable sizing etc.)  

Requirements

• HND (or equivalent+) in Engineering
• A good level of experience of working in the industry for the key duties and responsibilities mentioned above
• Good understanding of CDM 2015 & ESQCR 
• Full UK Driving License
• 11kV up to 132kV design experience
• Knowledge of cable sizing and pulling calculations software packages including Crater & CYMCAP
• Knowledge of AutoCAD
• Knowledge of 3D AutoCAD (Desirable)
• CSCS Card Holder (Desirable)
